May is the Month of the Divine Mother

Hello friends -

Life has a way, doesn’t it? For the better part of the past year, I’ve been trying not to get into the polarity of things. Trying not to shade something as “good” or “bad” - which takes practice. I do this, not because I want to sugar coat or always be optimistic, but because even with challenges, there is something to be learned and observed about oneself. Last month started out with so much momentum and by the 4th week, I found myself contracted - sitting with shadows around self-worth and boundaries that gave rise to many doubts. I sat with these things with my hands open, not tightened into a fist, which is to say that even though I felt so much disappointment, I tried my best to still be of service, to find patience with myself and others, and stayed present with it all.

It’s a practice and taking refuge in rest and nature was key.

I took a couple of field trips - one to the beach where I stood on the shore and felt so small looking out at the vast ocean and another to a local garden where prana was overflowing everywhere you looked.

Mama Earth and nature never fail to rejuvenate me and put things into perspective. For that I am so grateful.

TWO SUPER FLOWER BLOOD MOON EVENTS

Traditionally, the full moon in May is called a Flower Moon because it is peak bloom season (in the northern hemisphere) this time of year. In addition, this month’s full moon coincides with a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio. Because of the eclipse, the moon turns a reddish color, making it a Blood Moon. AND it’s a Super Moon because of its close proximity to earth - appearing larger and brighter.

I know, it’s a lot to think about, and we haven’t even talked about the astrological impact this lunation can have, but here are two Super Flower Blood Moon sound experiences happening next week.

FRIDAY 5/13: SOUNDBATH AND TEA SIT at CASA MUSE - AGOURA HILLS

Truly a favorite offering: sound and tea - and in such a beautiful space. Lead by Linda and me, you’ll enter a state of rest through the sounds of crystal alchemy bowls, gongs, and chimes. Upon waking, we’ll gather quietly for a tea sit before opening the circle to share.
